3 Tips to Help with Refocusing at Work

During work we can get overwhelmed and find ourselves tuning out from our productivity and focus. Try these three quick tips to help you refocus at work:
1. Reorient Yourself
If you find yourself distracted, overwhelmed, burnt out or at your ends, wits try taking a step back (or sit back) and close your eyes, count to 10 and take a deep breath with each count. Once you reach 10 open your eyes and reorient yourself to your work environment and tasks then proceed with re-engaging with work.
2. Take a Break
When able to, take a break. Get up or move from your work environment. Walk to the bathroom, go outside the building...take a walk. Sometimes changing our immediate environment can be helpful to reset our mind, energy and focus.
3. Healthy Snacks
Sometimes for a pick me up we will tend to snack, but the choice of snacks may not be the best in re-energizing ourselves without still feeling heavy. Choosing healthy snacks can help with this heavy feeling. Eating fruits and nuts can be a great source of energy that allows our body to process the snack, and pull the natural sugars, or healthy nutrients to converge over in to healthy sugars in our body. This can help to improve your energy, mood and focus to engage with your work tasks.
